1803 Candles

was inspired by the diary writings of  in 1803. She made tallo candles, dozens and dozens almost every day and stored them in the cellar.   Candles provided their light from dusk to dawn. Her daily work, not only making candles, inspired me to name my candle line

Our candles are made almost everyday too by my dad and me. Today, we use soy wax and store the jars in primitive cabinets.

Unlike in 1803, we use candles to illuminate our homes with a warm light; for comfort, ambiance and cozy fragrance. Each is labeled with a story reminiscent of simpler times. The stories are of my own imagination and many are depicted from memories (stories) of Virginia where my great- grandparents, grandparents, my parents and their siblings grew up.
